"Pray without ceasing"

August 2025

We have had a busy few months! In April, we held our annual Teen Camp for both our Swahili- and English-speaking teens, followed by
our annual English Easter Service. We were thrilled to see a lot of familiar faces from our sending church, Victory in Grace Baptist Church,
which is now being pastored by Joshua Kent. They came to assist with camp and help in whatever capacity they could. We were definitely
sad to see them go.

After months of waiting and anticipating, my classroom was finally ready for its debut! I was praying for a
high attendance, but I wasn’t expecting almost 60 to show up! We even had to bring in more chairs, which
is a good problem to have! Praise God for providing nice folding chairs from a new store Pastor Jerry found
in Dar es Salaam.

The new building has already proven to be a huge asset to our ministry. Kellie’s indoor nursery is also a
huge blessing to the kids and the workers.

We announced our surprise pregnancy in our last letter. At the time, we were unsure as to where Kellie was
to give birth. After much prayer and a meeting with the head NICU doctor at the big hospital in Dar es
Salaam, Kellie has decided to stay. She is actually due in less than a month! We are looking forward to the
arrival of our baby girl. Landon asks almost daily if it’s time for his sister to be born. Do be in prayer for us,
as Kellie and Landon will be heading to Dar es Salaam soon to stay there until after the birth. I will be
commuting back and forth until Kellie goes into labor. She has decided to take a short, six-week maternity
leave from her Sunday school class during that time. Thankfully, there is a mom and dad who have
volunteered to teach her class during her absence.

May marked our fourth year since moving to the field! Kellie and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary
in June.

Landon came to his mom one evening and told her that he was ready to go to Heaven. We have been talking
to Landon about salvation for a while and have even opened the Bible to go through the verses with him. He
was never focused enough to listen, and this is one decision that we knew we couldn’t and didn’t want to
force. He has known all of the correct answers for a while. Who is Jesus? The Son of God. What did Jesus
do for you? Died on the Cross. Why did He die on the Cross? Because He loves us and because of our sin.
After going through the corresponding verses, Landon bowed his head and confessed what he believes in
his heart! This was a day that we have both been praying for. We did wait until his grandpa’s most recent
visit for the baptism. I was thrilled that Landon got to be the first convert I have ever baptized.

I’ve experienced another first! I am usually the silent partner when we go soul winning. It’s been frustrating
at times, being able to have a conversation in Swahili but not being able to share the Gospel fully with someone. A couple of weeks ago,
I was able to start and finish presenting the Gospel in Swahili with a young man . . . and the young man got saved! After four years, I saw
my first Tanzanian get saved with no help from a translator!

The end-of-the-school year activities are always busy here. We held our 3rd Annual Piano Recital to
end the semester. I attended the high school graduation at the international school. Several of my
students are now going to university in different parts of the world.

We had another visiting group from Michigan, and they hosted a one-day Youth Rally. We have held Kids’ Day and just finished the
biggest event of the year: Tanzanian Stadium Crusade. The Crusade this year was held in Dar es Salaam. We had two churches that
came to assist and be part of the halftime show. After collecting all of the decision cards, we counted 228 who had believed the Gospel
message!

I know every salvation decision is special to Jesus, but my two personal favorites are my son’s and my first Tanzanian! Year 4 is already
proving to be a good and fruitful year!
